Hi!
My name is Dominick “Nick” Schroeder.
I was born and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
My passion for fishing began when I was just three years old
during a family camping trip at Copper Harbor, Michigan.
By the age of four I was an addicted fishing fanatic.
Growing up I was lucky to have
grandparents who lived on the Fox River.
I fished everyday after school, on weekends, and all summer
long. Fishing at
grandma’s house didn’t just mean a good catch; it meant
grandpa’s company and grandma’s home cooking.
At the age of 14, I fished in
my first Bass Tournament with my cousin Timm Schroeder.
I instantly developed a passion for bass fishing.
I fished that same tournament with Timm every year until I was
17. At age 18 my parents
presented me with my first bass boat as a graduation gift.
In 2003 I joined the Oshkosh
Bass Masters. The first
tournament I fished individually in, I won “Big Fish”.
It was also the biggest fish caught for the Oshkosh Bass
Masters that year. I was
hooked on tournament fishing from that day forward.
The following year, 2004 I won
my first tournament on Lake Camelot with the Oshkosh Bass Masters.
I won by an unbelievable six pounds.
This win meant a lot to me since Lake Camelot is where my
family spends weekends in the summer months.
In 2005 I won “Mr. Bass –
1st place overall” for the year with the Oshkosh Bass
Masters. I fished a total
of twenty-two tournaments.
In 2006 I had many
accomplishments. I
finished 2nd place overall for the Oshkosh Bass Masters and
won two back-to-back opens. This
was also the year I found the confidence to begin fishing other
circuits and had the opportunity to do professional guide fishing.
In
2007 besides fishing the Oshkosh Bass Masters I fished several Opens
and the Wal-Mart BFL Circuit. I
finished in the top 40 in the Wal-Mart BFL Circuit, which
guaranteed me a place in the 2008 Sterns Series.
This year in addition to
fishing the Oshkosh Bass Masters Tournaments, I’ll also be fishing
the Wal-Mart BFL Circuit, several Opens and the Sterns Series.
